The Santee Family – South Jersey Family Photographer

So, this is totally going out of order since I’m trying to blog old work but I just couldn’t help skipping to this family’s photo session! (And honestly, you won’t blame me)

Kristen and Mike have been our neighbors since we bought our house back in 2008. However, we didn’t get to know them until we decided to have a huge backyard party and invited all of our neighbors.

I remember being so nervous that first year. Both Brandon and I had lived here for over two years, but we didn’t really feel like we knew anyone on the block (aside from our two next-door neighbors). Everyone seemed so nice, but we only ever got a chance to say hello maybe once or twice a year! So when we decided to have an annual party for all of our family and friends, we said “why not invite the whole block?”. We had no idea who would actually come to our crazy party, and were pleasantly surprised when almost all that were invited showed up – including the Santees.

I liked Kristen and Mike right away – they were easy going, super sweet and they were also good friends with my awesome neighbors Hilary and Randy so clearly they were good people! When we first started our party back in 2010, Audrey was so little and Anna had just been born. Now 3 years later, their girls have their own sweet, independent personalities and they’ve added an adorable baby boy to the family!

I had such a great afternoon last week photographing this family of six (and no, I didn’t miscount – Kane, their well-behaved lovable pup, is absolutely a member of this family!) I will miss them when they move in just a few short days!
