Rachel & Sean – New York Engagement Photographer

First of all, blogging this engagement is so exciting right now because in less than a week I will be photographing Rachel and Sean’s wedding! I can’t believe that it’s here already and I can’t wait to capture more of their love.

Okay, now back to the engagement session! I met Rachel and Sean through my girlfriend’s sister, Lindsey. Rachel was looking for a wedding photographer and Lindsey suggested she take a look at my work. Once she decided that she liked my work, we briefly talked over the phone and then set up a date to meet in the city the next time I was visiting. We hit it off right away – Rachel and Sean felt like old friends. We talked, laughed and just had the best time together. Shortly after, we photographed their engagement session in the Carl Schurz Park a few blocks from their apartment.

 

 

This is where they told me the story of Sean asking Rachel’s dad for her hand in marriage. He told Rachel some bogus story about staying at work late, and then ended up calling her dad at the house. Rachel knew that Sean was on the phone and was suspicious right away.

My favorite part about these photos is that he totally thought he was being smooth, and she’s clearly like “can you believe this fool?”
