Nate and Ryan. Quite possibly two of the most adorable children to ever grace this earth.
Kristen, Nate’s momma, contacted me about doing photographs of her boy for Christmas. And then Kristen’s momma, Sue, thought it’d be a good time to get some photographs of both of her grandchildren, so she brought little Ryan along.
I’ve known Kristen for, well, forever. We had a rocky start to our relationship in that we both were after the same guy. I know, so cliche. Totally predictable. Fortunately, we realized we liked each other much better than we liked said guy and so years later we’re great friends. And “that guy”? Well, he’s just a distant memory.
Knowing Kristen for as long as I have, I’ve always known that being a mother was important to her. She was that girl that dreamed about her grown up family, and their grown up house, and the grown up things they would do together. So it’s no surprise to me what a wonderful, dedicated, and loving mother she’s become. Kristen is constantly doing things with Nate – if Nate wants to ride bikes, Kristen rides bikes. If Nate wants to play outside, Kristen is out there playing with him. If Nate wants to go to the park or watch the ducks at the river.. well, you get the point.
And it’s not spoiling him. Kristen doesn’t give in to everything that Nate wants, but rather what he needs: time with his momma, enjoying and loving life. Having the best days that a 3 year old could ask for.
Nate seriously has the whole emo-not-gonna-look-at-the-camera thing down. Every girl is going to be after this boy when he’s older.
If you were lucky enough to get one of Kristen’s christmas cards, then you’ll remember this gem below!
After running around with Nate for a while, this little beauty joined us. What a doll! I wanted to wrap her up and take her home.
Ryan, you kill me with that serious face. And those cheeks?! So edible!
