You’re gonna wanna prepare yourself for lots of cute and lots of smiles!
Jill heard about me through our mutual friend’s Gretchen and Ryan who got married last year in St. Michael’s. Any friend of Gretchen’s had to be a doll, and I immediately liked Jill. She was no nonsense, knew what she liked, what she didn’t, and she was looking forward to a beautiful and casual affair at the beautiful Prallsville Mills in New Jersey. Jill is the kind of easy going bride that doesn’t fuss too much over anything – she didn’t want a million photographs of a million different things, but she also has the adventure and spirit to trek through talls weeds and unsteady rocks to get THE shot – basically, she’s every photographer’s dream.
Jill and I met up a few months before her wedding to head up to the Mill, check out the area, and do a little sightseeing. It was on this trip that I knew I adored her – as we were driving to the Mill we passed a big outdoor flea market (the Golden Nugget Flea Market) and we both gasped! We wanted to stop, but also knew we had to make it to the Mill first. We agreed we’d stop on the way back if we had some time.. and since we did, we ended up spending a small piece of the day antiquing. Anyone who loves a good piece of random jewelry or knick knack like me is my kind of lady! We ended the day with a talk about healthy eating WHILE eating pork roll. Basically, we were made to be friends.
I didn’t meet Tim until a few days before the wedding, but my goodness – he’s the SWEETEST! He’s good natured, easy going, and such a gentleman. I loved capturing their beautiful wedding day..
Here’s our beautiful bride Jill. Everything about Jill + Tim’s wedding was about them. Jill went with a messy look for her hair and it was perfect. She also designed her own wedding dress and had her college professor bring it to life for her. I mean, HOW AMAZING IS THAT?!
And here’s Tim! Such a good looking dude! Many, many thanks to my awesome second shooter Cecilia for capturing these shots and for her overall awesomeness throughout the day. I couldn’t have done it without her.
The house that Jill got ready in was the craziest house EVER. But like, crazy in a good way. It was basically an antiquer’s dream, and clearly the owner has stopped at the Golden Nugget many, many times..
Jill is kind of the best. If you know her in real life, this is exactly how you would picture a first look going down with her. She’s like “yo bro, check me out!”. Also, check out the photo below this one for a sweet shot of her POCKETS.
We headed to the Mill and stopped off for some portraits in between..
HOW GORGEOUS IS JILL?!?! Answer: INCREDIBLY.
While I was taking the shot above, Cecilia was taking this shot below. I love it.
Then we headed to the Mill to get some family photos, bridal party photos, and to finally get MARRIED! How awesome is this shot of Tim that Cecilia snagged? Such a stud.
DOGSSSSSSSS. YESSSSSSSSS. I love photographing the pups.
Style on point.
And then we get married!
Mr. and Mrs. Tagye!
Jill designed all of these centerpieces herself. Obsessed, right?! They were incredibly gorgeous, and I definitely stole some lavender at the end of the night. I am obsessed with the smell of lavender.
The way Tim looks at Jill is incredibly beautiful. He is clearly SO in love with this lady.
The day started to fall a little behind schedule and it wasn’t until I looked at my watch and said “oh no! We’re supposed to be out there shooting now!”. So I ran over to Jill and Tim and asked them what they thought.. this is the time in the night where there is a 50/50 that my bride’s and groom’s might say “Ah, you know what? Let’s scrap it. We got a lot of portraits earlier and we’re totally happy with that.” And, honestly.. I get that. I got married before. I know that at this time in the night, you’re just kind of done with the formality of it all. You want to enjoy your guests and each other and not feel like you have ANOTHER thing to do. But I will tell you that ALL of my couples are always so happy when they do end up going out. It’s a few minutes for them to spend with just each other, and we end up getting beautiful and relaxed photographs. It’s one of my favorite times of the night.
Lucky for me, Jill and Tim said yes. And I’m so glad that they did.
I love this image with the mill in the background..
What’s nice about working with a second shooter is that I could get these pulled back landscape shots while Cecilia was getting the close ups. All of these portraits were in a matter of minutes.. and it would’ve taken me way longer to get them all on my own..
My favorite..
Now, back to the party!
Jill + Tim, thank you so much for allowing me to capture your beautiful wedding day. You, your friends, and your families are all the most amazing. I adore you both, and I wish you many, many years of love and happiness. xo, Lauren
