Oh, this wedding. When Francine + Scott first contacted me about their intimate backyard wedding, I knew immediately that it was going to be beautiful. Scott’s parents live in a beautiful house right on the Delaware and they were going to hold the reception there.
Enter a storm system that hovered over the region for about 4 days straight and all of a sudden an outside reception on the grass looked like a bad idea. But Francine + Scott took everything in stride. They had to pick a new location two days before the wedding, and not once did I ever hear a sliver of panic in Francine’s voice. Their wedding day wasn’t about the weather, it was about their union, so no amount of rain was going to put a damper on their day.
See below for some of the perfectness yourselves!
Here’s our beautiful bride, Francine, and one of my favorite shots.
A few houses down, my AMAZING second shooter Alison was photographing Scott getting ready. Here he is below!
Scott and Francine wrote letters to each other that they opened before the ceremony..
A gust of wind blew in!
oh, my heart. Here is Francine with her son Dillon. All these years it’s just been the two of them, and so on this day they were making a new family together. This moment had the whole room in tears.
One of the cutest things about their ceremony is how it was tailored to them. They sang a lot of songs because Scott loves singing + he loves the sound of a whole room full of people singing. The whole time, they were locked on each other though, like no one else was in the room..
All the boys!
Ah, so cute!
Scott + Francine in front of their new home together!
I just adore the romance in this photograph.
I mean, COME ON. How stunning is Francine??!
After a few photographs at their house, we headed to the Doane Academy where their reception was held. It was a litttttttllllle windy!
First dance snuggles – I love when couples are so incredibly in to each other that the whole world (or a room full of people) doesn’t exist.
These little details are just as important at a wedding. I remember dancing on my dad’s feet as a little girl..
Francine + Scott, it was my absolute pleasure to photograph your beautiful wedding. I had the best time with you guys, and I wish you many, many years of continued happiness. xo, Lauren
