When Esther first contacted me, I liked her right away. She was sweet and warm, and so incredibly nice. When we finally met in person a few months later at their engagement session, I felt like I already knew her. Lucky for me, Alex was just as sweet and they were both willing to do pretty much anything I asked, which I’m a big fan of.
Over the months that I’ve gotten to know Esther, she has been nothing but caring and kind. Talking with her is like talking with an old friend – it comes easy and it’s full of laughs. And just when I thought I couldn’t love her any more, on the day of her wedding she packed me a bag full of water and snacks. Thoughtful doesn’t even begin to sum it up.
They had a beautiful July wedding day, and I felt honored to capture it..
Here’s our beautiful bride!
Oh, Esther. You are gorgeous, girlfriend.
Meanwhile, my lovely second shooter Amanda was photographing Alex. Esther wrote weekly love letters to Alex during their engagement and gifted them to him in a beautiful leather journal. Seriously, how sweet?!?!
On the way to the first look.. These bridesmaids were AWESOME!
Can you even handle how in love they are? Their first look was one of the cutest I’ve ever seen. They just embraced for a good 15 minutes, smiling, crying and laughing together. It was perfection.
Esther is a DIY Queen. She did all of the flowers. Yes, those gorgeous flowers you see the girls holding, that’s all her! Ah-mazing! Also, she made her own beautiful lace veil that’ll make a debut a little later.. This lady has all the talent!
Right before we left the park on the way to the ceremony, I stopped them for a few more portraits..
Esther’s grandparents and her uncle flew all the way from Korea for her wedding. Right after the ceremony, she embraced her grandmother and then immediately broke down. So much love.
My favorite..
During the reception they did a traditional Korean ceremony. It was so, so beautiful.
…and this is everyone’s reaction to the prediction that they are going to have seven children!
The last shot. A favorite. Totally out of focus, but totally okay. This is Esther & her grandmother. There is something so incredibly beautiful to me about this shot – the connection, the laughter, the light tug on her hand. My grandmother gives me that same tug when I see her, as if to say “Stop. Stay for a minute. Don’t leave so soon.”
Esther + Alex – thank you both so much for allowing me to capture your beautiful wedding day, for being so patient, and so kind. You both are seriously amazing and the best. And I adore you both. I wish you so much love and luck and happiness!
