It’s safe to say that I’ve known Emily my entire life, even before I can possibly remember knowing her. Our fathers are cousins, so that technically makes us 3rd cousins or something equally as bizarre sounding. However, I’ve grown up with Emily – our families vacation together, we share Wiglia together (and for those of you who aren’t Pollacks, it’s just a fancy word for stuffing our faces with pierogis and kielbasa on Christmas Eve), and we share a lot of the same memories, most of which usually revolve around our parents and grandparents!
The Chmie’s (as us Macks lovingly refer to them) are a pretty interesting bunch. They’re all gorgeous, smart, well-mannered, all around fantastic people. In fact, my sister and I joke about how they must all have a 6th toe or something, because really, how can someone be that perfect? But the Chmie kids would just laugh that off, cause they’re modest and humble to top it off. I once read something that said “Live in such a way, that if someone spoke badly of you – no one would believe it.” If that doesn’t sum up the Chmie’s, I’m not sure what would.
Strangely enough, even though Emily and Brian have been dating for some time and now engaged for a year or so, I actually never got to spend that much time with Brian. I chalk it up to mostly seeing him at holidays and big gatherings, where you leave at the end of the night feeling like you didn’t really talk to anyone even if your jaw is aching from laughing. So at their engagement session, I was really happy to spend some decent quality time with the both of them. What I learned from being around Brian is that he absolutely adores Emily. The way he looked at her, without me even asking, was so sweet. Brian’s also seriously funny, and dry. He has a perfect way of wording what everyone’s thinking in the funniest of ways . At one point, Emily made a comment that she was marrying her father. And, I knew what she meant – that Brian has the same joking nature as her father (and clearly makes her laugh just as hard) – but I couldn’t help thinking that she was also marrying a good man. A capable, kind, hilarious and wonderful man – just like her father. And I couldn’t be happier for her.
Thank you for letting me document this time in your lives, I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them. Here’s to a lifetime of happiness, love and luck!
– We started on the AC Boardwalk…
– Then we headed to the beach, oh love..
– How cute are they?! Total LOVE.
– At the last minute as the sun was setting, I asked if they wanted to run to the bay quickly. I was apprehensive, cause I had already taken 2 hours of their time and didn’t wan’t to keep them waiting (especially since they were driving back to Philly that night). But they were totally up for it, and I’m so glad because I got this shot…
