The first time I spoke to Danielle was about 2 months before her wedding day. Prior to that, I had only communicated with her mom, Lorraine, who I absolutely adored. The first email I got from Danielle included the line “I have started to get strange looks when people ask me questions and I say ‘oh i don’t know… i guess I need to figure that out’ “ and I liked her immediately. I mean, she might be the most laid back bride I’ve ever encountered. When we chatted a bit more, I learned that she is in medical school spending all her free time with her cute little head in a book.
I had been looking forward to this wedding for months. To start, I adored Lorraine. Mother-of-the-bride win. And also because I knew that I’d get a chance to see my old college buddy, Steve, who is dating Danielle’s sister. Steve is a great artist, and person, and you should definitely check out some of his work here.
The moment I arrived and met Danielle + Erik’s wonderful family, I knew that my instincts were right: these were really, really great people. I felt like family the whole day, and it made capturing this wedding so very special for me…
Danielle’s details were ON POINT.
Like, are you not dying over those shoes? And her dress! I was in heaven.
Here is our beautiful bride, Danielle.
The light in the bridal suite of the Lounsbury House was incredible. I love when I can photograph bright, beautiful images but also when I can get moody images like the one below.
Gorgeous flowers + BHLDN bridesmaids dresses for the win!
Prior to the wedding day, Danielle kept warning me that she was SO AWKWARD. But, um. I didn’t see it all day. Not only is she amazing to be around, but she was a dream to photograph. LOOK AT HOW CUTE SHE IS!
Getting in to her dress. SWOON.
I love moms + their daughters. LOVE THEM.
Meanwhile, Erik was down the hall getting ready..
…look at how happy he looks!
The boys. Apparently my second shooter, Amanda, said something funny.
The Lounsbury is so perfect. And so are these bridesmaids.
First looks with Dad. They get me every time.
Ceremony time! I love this shot of the guys in waiting.
But this shot is hands down my favorite. Danielle + her dad as he greets her at the beginning of the aisle.
One of the funniest ceremonies I’ve ever been to, let alone photographed. It was amazing.
MARRIED!!!!
Loving on Harold! I mean, how can you not?
And now for some bride + groom portraits. TRY TO TELL ME THEY DON’T BELONG IN A MAGAZINE.
Oh, my goodness. I love them. LOVE LOVE LOVE.
We took a little break + decided to head to the party! And party they did!
We decided to head back out for a few portraits later on, and my goodness, I’m so glad we did. We headed over to these gorgeous trees in full bloom right next to the Lounsbury. The owners of the property told us we were so lucky because they’re only in bloom for about 2 weeks. If that’s not luck, I don’t know what is.
Seriously, can you even handle it? Danielle, if you ever decide to give up medical school go be a model, mmkay?
They told me they were awkward. Can you believe it?! If this is awkward, give me more of that please!
And now back to the party! Danielle didn’t get off the dance floor all night. DANCING QUEEN.
Danielle + Erik – thank you so much for inviting me in to your story & trusting me to capture this day. I adore you both + wish you so many years of happy!
