Ayla – South Jersey Newborn Photographer

Lauren contacted me in the middle of November about photographs for her little Ayla. And I got all high school girl giddy.

I went to high school with Lauren and her husband Chris. They were a few grades ahead of me, and were what you would refer to as the “it” couple. Super sweet, funny, good-looking and smart. Honestly I can’t remember if they were prom king and queen, but I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that they were. They are individually, and together, two people that you want to know.

And so of course I was so excited to photograph their beautiful daughter and their new little family. When I showed up to their house with a suitcase full of props and a huge beanbag, I’m not sure that they knew what to make of it! Chris joked, “are you moving in?”. I laughed it off, but I can only imagine how crazy I looked! I have since moved away from a suitcase full of props to just a few, and focus now on lifestyle sessions. And this is the session that showed me that lifestyle is where its at! While I do love the photos of Ayla by herself, there is something magical about the bond shown between Chris, Lauren, Ayla and Utley (the dog!).

I’m so glad that I got to freeze these moments for Lauren and Chris, because as I’m finding out myself – our little ones grow up way too fast. But more than that, I’m happy that I got to capture these images for Ayla – so that one day she can see just how much joy she brought to her parents, how she captured their hearts from the beginning and how they loved her so completely.
