Let me start by saying that I love all of my couples. I consider if an honor to be chosen to photograph one of the most important days of their lives. By the time we’ve signed the contract, they have already decided that they a) love my work b) trust me to capture it and c) like me enough that they want me hanging around them all day (in what is the happiest + sometimes, most stressful day of their lives). I feel lucky.
But Ashley. Ashley contacted me almost two years before her wedding date. Actually before she even had a wedding date set in stone. When I saw she had gotten engaged, I had secretly hoped that she’d contact me and so when she did, I was ecstatic. I sent her over pricing and a day later she said, “Awesome! So you’re our girl!”. And then once everything was finalized, contract signed, etc. She sent a handwritten card telling me how excited SHE was to work with ME. I mean, come on now! Lucky for me, Dennis is just as sweet + adorable as Ashley.
We started at the house where we got a full family picture including the cat. These guys are Redskins fans, so all the animals are named after people affiliated – you’ve got Charlie, Joe Theismmann + Riggins.
Charlie + Riggins wanted no parts of me. But they eventually caved. They always do.
Oh, hello pretty.
Yes, they are that cute. Dennis is next level in love with Ashley. I didn’t coax this guy at all, and that nose kiss was all him.
We were dodging runners & bikers through the whole shoot. We agreed we’d warn each other if someone was coming. I’m happy to report no one got run over.
We were originally going to shoot at two locations, but in true Lauren fashion I kept shooting at our first location because I was OBSESSED. Eventually we got to the second location and were able to squeeze 5 minutes of out the sunset.
Ashley + Dennis – I had the best time ever with you guys! I cannot wait for your October wedding! xoxo
