Before Lisa, there was Meghan. Actually, (to be fair) Meghan’s shoot was in preparation for Lisa’s shoot. I had no idea what I was doing since I had never actively posed anyone before this shoot, and there was no way I was going to have Lisa come to my house and pose in her underwear without at least doing a proper run through!
So insert Meghan – the makeup artist for Lisa’s shoot and one of my very first, and best, friends. Meghan is the type of girl that is up for anything, anytime. She’s loud and hilarious. She tells it like it is, but also has a really soft and forgiving heart. She’s all at once tough and gentle, a walking contradiction. She never takes herself – or life – too seriously. And thank God for that, because I needed someone who would allow be to fumble a couple hundred times during this shoot. I needed someone who would awkwardly pose for me and let me just laugh, laugh, laugh. I needed someone who would laugh right back at me, confident that the laughing was not at her expense. Someone who would take my terribly explained direction and somehow make it work. For hours.
For her first time posing, and my first time posing someone, I’d say we did pretty good. And hey, even if we didn’t we at least had a lot of fun.
[All makeup was done by Meghan. She’s just starting up and does beautiful work – make sure to visit her Facebook fan page and show her some love! And keep her in mind for any weddings or special events.]
