When Felicia first contacted me about doing portraits for her family, I was flattered. Felicia and I had gone to high school together, but she was a few years ahead of me. In typical high school fashion where all the younger kids know all of the older kids (and not vice versa), I had grown up seeing Felicia and her friends in the halls. Beautiful, smart and popular – who wouldn’t idolize these girls?! But aside from knowing who she was, I had never actually spoken to her so I wasn’t sure what to expect when I met her and her family on a Friday night at the end of summer. We chatted for a few minutes before I got to work, and she mentioned that she loves black and whites – that her whole house is covered in them – and that she prefers candid, natural photographs.
I liked her immediately.
I had so much fun spending time with this family! Cole and Jaxon were great, full of life, and hilarious. I loved capturing their silliness, seriousness, and love for each other.
